The Best Reactions To The First Trailer For ‘The Bachelor’

"The Honey Badger? Don't know her"

Yesterday, Australia woke to the first out of this world (you’ll see what we mean) trailer for the upcoming season of The Bachelor. After a disastrous run with Nick Cummins as the leading man – like, literally the worst outcome in history, the reality TV show knows it has a lot of making up to do – and it’s doing it in the form of Matt Agnew, a 31-year-old astrophysicist from Melbourne, Victoria.

In the clip, which you can watch below, Matt is depicted as a human asteroid, crashing down to earth only to be surrounded by beautiful women.

On top of his unique profession, which Channel Ten really leans into in the above trailer, Matt is the first non-returnee or celebrity Bachelor in four years with an insider telling the Daily Mail earlier this year that producers were keen to secure someone who hadn’t already been in the public eye for this season.

“The novelty of watching a celebrity search for love has worn off and producers figured that out pretty quickly after Nick Cummins’ finale,” they said.

As far as Bachie goes, he said in a statement, “I’m really hoping to fall in love. It’s the best feeling in the world! I’m at a stage in my life where I’m established in my career, I own my own home and finding someone to share my life with would make it the trifecta.”

Now that we’ve had a minute to process that trailer, we’re ready to find out what the women – and a few men – of Australia think of their new Bachelor. See the best reactions to Matt’s debut below.
