UPDATE: A Bachelor In Paradise crew member has opened up about the incident that shut the show down, with cast and crew sent home from Mexico.

They say that contestant Corinne Olympios appeared to be unconscious while DeMario Jackson had intercourse with her.

“There was hugging and kissing and touching, but before long, she seemed to go limp and was sliding under water. DeMario kept trying to hold her up and at the same time he appeared to be having intercourse with her,” the source, who wished to remain anonymous, told the Daily Mail.

“She appeared to be unconscious,” the source continued. “At that point some of the crew came out and carried her off to her room. She was limp and seemed unable to walk on her own.”

Apparently, DeMario told sources who spoke with TMZ that he did not have penetrative sex with Corinne because of the alcohol he consumed.

ORIGINAL: The new season of US Bachelor spin-off show, Bachelor in Paradise, was cancelled over the weekend following “allegations of misconduct on set.”

The show, which sees previous Bachelor and Bachelorette contestants try to find love with each other on a tropical island, was quickly shut down with cast and crew sent home from Mexico.

“We have become aware of allegations of misconduct on the set of Bachelor in Paradise in Mexico. We have suspended production and we are conducting a thorough investigation of these allegations. Once the investigation is complete, we will take appropriate responsive action,” a statement from Warner Bros reads.

The first rumour was that a producer had sued the production following having to witness a raunchy encounter between contestants DeMario Jackson and Corinne Olympios.

LA Times journalist Amy Kaufman released a series of tweets about the incident, saying a source had told her that the pair had a “raunchy” naked encounter by the pool, with a producer unhappy about what she witnessed.

“My source was told a producer filed a third party complaint,” she tweeted.

However, anyone who has watched an episode of Bachelor in Paradise will know that the above account of events doesn’t really add up – this is a show based around contestants ‘hooking up’ and drinking, so it seems unlikely that contestants and crew would be sent home – and filming cancelled – for just that.

Now, People is reporting that the encounter between the two contestants wasn’t consensual and that 21-year-old Corinne was too drunk.

“People are pissed, and not just at DeMario,” a contestant said.

“We’re pissed that this whole thing happened. They could have seen that she was drinking too much and that he was taking advantage. They could have stopped this before it got this far.”

“But they decided to let it go, and let it happen, and see what happened? So, I’m angry at the show, and everyone else is too.”

The show was due to premiere in the US on August 8th, however, it’s unclear at this stage whether filming will continue at all.
