Why did you decide to do Bachelor In Paradise?
Jake: "Because The Bachelorette was such an amazing experience! The whole thing was a once in a lifetime thing. I did weigh up the pros and cons but if you’re still single, then it’s pretty tempting to have a team of people help you find love."
How does the format of BIP differ to previous Bachie seasons?
Jake: "It’s very different, on the Bachelor or the Bachelorette each person only spends a certain amount of time, whereas in Bachelor In Paradise we’re living with each other 24 hours a day. Everything is a lot more magnified because you’re spending so much time with whom you’re interested in.
Does that lead to a few love triangles and more drama?
Jake: "It’s definitely something you see–the way I look at it is, essentially we’ve all done this before, we’ve all been a bachelor or bachelorette and having to weigh up our feelings and emotions based on which way we want to go and who with and it takes adjusting to."
Which contestants were you most excited to meet?
Jake: It would have been great if Sophie Monk came in. I was hoping to see Meghan Marx in there, and I was hoping to meet Laurina. Plus, some of the other guys from other seasons, I'm very close to the guys from my season so it was good to meet some of the other guys.
You and Tara Pavlovic look like you're having a fun time together in the trailer, can you give us any spoilers?
Jake: "Without giving to much away, you might have the wrong person! Everyone is jumping to assume who it might be, but that may not be right."
Did you find you love?
Jake: "You'll have to watch and see! A lot happens between the start and the end of the show and I don't want to ruin it."
