Tributes have flowed in

Tributes have poured in for British backpacker Amelia Blake, who was found dead in a Sydney unit in what police are treating a murder-suicide involving a man in his 30s.

According to The Sydney Morning Herald, the bodies of 22-year-old Ms Blake and the 30-year-old man were found above a restaurant on Newtown’s King Street on Friday, January 12.

Police discovered the pair after friend’s raised concerns for the couple’s welfare.

As News Corp reports, Ms Blake had been in Australia for eight months and had spent time at a Victorian farm over Christmas and had plans to leave the country within days of her death.

She was reportedly found with numerous injuries on her body.

Friends paid tribute to Ms Blake with heartfelt posts on social media.

“This has broken my heart into a million pieces,” her best friend Rhys posted on Facebook, the SMH reports.

“It’s almost unimaginable that I’ll never see you again, my dear friend. Until we meet again. I love you to the moon and back.”

Another friend, Emily, wrote: “The way she has been taken from this world was unthinkable and breaks my heart every time I think about it.”
