Renowned designer Karen Walker has built a global following for her eponymous ready-to-wear fashion, eyewear, jewellery, bags, fragrances, celebrity-filled front rows and inspiring campaigns. Now she’s got her sights set on dressing a global icon who shares her love of fashion: Barbie.

To celebrate Barbie’s birthday this year, marie claire has teamed up with Karen Walker to create Barbie’s outfit of dreams—an outfit that truly inspires, encourages self-expression and embodies personal style.

And we need your help to bring it to life!

Barbie is inviting kids (aged 12 or under) to be part of the process and submit their own outfit ideas and visions of an ‘outfit of dreams’ to inspire Karen.

The winning design will not only be the creative inspiration behind the outfit, they will get to keep the custom-made Barbie outfit crafted by Karen Walker, and be gifted a Barbie prize pack valued up to $200. We will also be giving away 10 Barbie prize packs to runners-up.

Enter via Instagram: Post a picture of your design and tag @marieclaireau with the hashtag #BarbieOutfitOfDreams. Be sure to keep your profile public so the judges can see your entry.
Enter via mail: Send your completed entry along with your name, contact details and age to marie claire, Are Media, 54 Park Street, Sydney NSW 2000.

The best entries will be judged by a panel from marie claire, Barbie HQ and Karen Walker. We will also be featuring some of the best and most creative designs in a video on marie claire’s Instagram.
