Princess Kate is currently enjoying a summer stay at Balmoral with Prince William and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
Every summer, the sprawling Balmoral estate becomes a gathering place for the Royal Family, with King Charles, Queen Camilla, and a host of other relatives also making the most of their time in the Scottish countryside.
On August 23, Princess Kate was photographed arriving at Crathie Kirk Church in Aberdeenshire alongside her family. For the occasion, the Princess of Wales leaned into a distinctly vintage-inspired aesthetic, wearing a classic pillbox hat paired with a delicate, ruffled pie-crust-collar blouse.
She completed the British-heritage-inspired ensemble with a softly tailored grey blazer and a pair of gleaming gold drop earrings. Her hair was styled in undone waves, while her luminous blonde highlights added a fresh, modern touch to the otherwise timeless look.
This isn’t the first time the princess has embraced a honey-blonde hue. In 2025, Kate, famous for her glossy chestnut waves and the signature style that has spawned a thousand “Chelsea blow-dry” appointments, went fully blonde.
At the time, many were shocked by her dramatic colour transformation. The result was creamy wheat at the roots, melting into ribbons of gold, amber, and honey. It was fresh, radiant, and, dare I say, downright stunning.
The lighter look arrived as Kate gradually returned to royal duties following her successful chemotherapy treatment, her signature brunette locks slowly giving way to softer, sun-kissed shades. While she had since retreated to her signature chocolate-brown shade, it seems the Princess of Wales is dabbling in blonde once again.

What Does Prince Harry & Meghan Markle’s Move Back To The UK Mean For Their Relationship With William & Kate?
Aside from showing off her new, luscious locks, Kate Middleton’s outing with Prince William was notable for another reason: it marked the first time the couple had been spotted together since news broke that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are moving back to the U.K.
The return has already raised questions about what it could mean for the fractured relationship between the brothers. The Prince and Princess of Wales are said to be “very concerned” about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s return to the U.K., according to a source speaking to Vanity Fair.
“William is very concerned that Harry and Meghan will want to try and implement the ‘half in, half out’ model Queen Elizabeth vetoed at the Sandringham Summit [in 2020],” the royal insider said.
“They are wary about the whole move back to Britain. [King] Charles is happy to see Harry come home, but for William, the breakdown of trust is a key issue.”
That breakdown in trust could prove to be one of the biggest obstacles to any potential reconciliation between the brothers. Still, another source speaking to People suggested that Harry’s return could also create a rare opening for them to repair their relationship, calling it the “best opportunity” for the long-warring brothers to reconcile.
“It would never happen with him in America,” the insider told the outlet. “This gives them opportunity to try and mend that bridge.”
The brothers’ relationship has been complicated for years. In his unvarnished memoir, Spare, Harry calls William his “beloved brother” and “archnemesis.” Tensions deepened after Harry and Meghan stepped back from their royal duties in 2020, with their fractured relationship playing out publicly through the couple’s bombshell 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey and their Harry & Meghan Netflix docuseries.
Kate, meanwhile, could potentially play a role in bridging the divide. A source told People that “Catherine may step into that breach and try to help, too, because she knows how important family is and how important Harry is to William. She would want to see that healed, as any wife would. This gives them opportunity to try and mend that bridge.”
Harry and Meghan’s return could therefore give the brothers their clearest opportunity in years to rebuild their relationship. Whether either side is willing to take that first step, however, remains to be seen.
