The Best Beauty Looks From London Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2020

The beauty inspo is coming in hard and fast

London Fashion Week is already proving that there’s something for everyone. From the skin-obsessed wallflowers to the don’t-care-go-ahead-and-stare makeup experimenters, we’ve seen subtle and we’ve seen OTT.

Here are some of our favourite beauty looks straight off the LFW SS20 runways so far…

More is more winged eyeliner at Roberta Einer

Forget being precise and delicate, black eyeliner at Roberta Einer was drawn on thick and matte, with a wing to accentuate the eye shape. “It’s like an exaggerated cat eye. The clothes are really pretty, and Roberta wanted to create some contrast so they wanted something punky but pretty,” makeup artist Janelle Gleason told Allure.

French Girl chic at Ports 1961

The hair at Ports 1961 was shiny but undone; a look that hairstylist Guido Palau says was inspired by the cool, effortlessness of French women. If you’ve always struggled with fly-aways, this look will inspire you to just let them be.

Glitter panda eyes at House Of Holland

It’s about time you got over your fear of glitter, because we’ve been seeing it used liberally backstage at the Spring/Summer 2020 shows and we don’t predict it will be going anywhere any time soon. Delivering the most striking glistening makeup thus far, House Of Holland took inspiration from ‘90s rave culture and ‘70s disco to bring us this bold look. “The makeup is blown out, it’s worn out, it’s lived in and it’s loved in,” says MAC Makeup Artist Dominic Skinner.

Super sheen at Temperley London

Take a detour on your quest for glowing skin and dabble in a quick-fix glossy sheen instead. Foundation-less skin was accentuated with a dewy glass-like finish at Temperley London, and cheekbones and brow bones showed off the subtlest of pink cream highlighter as it caught the light. Other contours, like around the nose and in the inner corners of the eye, were illuminated with a clear balm for a slightly wet look.

Power buns at Emilia Wickstead

Swept back, deeply parted and secured down low, the hair may have been simple at Emilia Wickstead, but it was commanding. If you’re looking to own it in the office, look no further.
