The Best High Waisted Jeans According To Our Editors

The higher the better

When looking for high waisted jeans, it can all seem like a bit of a maze. There are so many different styles (high-rise jeans, boyfriend jeans, wide leg jeans!), so many colours (white, black, acid wash?) and just so much to consider. Whether you’re after a plus size piece, a slim fit or something more relaxed (think, mum jeans), women’s jeans come in all forms, shapes and sizes.

As the most flattering cut of jeans, a high waisted pair will do everything it can to complement your body. Holding your tummy in and ensuring you keep a seamless silhouette, a high waisted jean will make every leg look longer — and who doesn’t want that? Plus, with marie claire‘s Fashion and Beauty night at Canberra Centre coming up, there’s never been a better excuse to shop for jeans.

With so many popular styles out there, including those from Levis (a staple), Calvin Klein (a classic) or Topshop (always a good place to start), it can be overwhelming when beginning your jeans search. We quizzed our editors to see which jeans they have in their wardrobes and shopping bags — straight leg, super high and high rise skinnies all included, so you don’t have to spend hours tracking down the best. You’re welcome!

My new favourite jeans – the Levi’s Ribcage. Super high waist and the most flattering fit. Now to buy them in every colour!

Mine have always been the Rollas Classic Straight 90s in blue. Because I’m so petite, they come up higher than they’re meant to – making them the perfect high waisted. I also always get a size up and get them tailored so they perfectly fit my waist, a tip I read from Sofia Richie.
