Beyoncé Confirmed To Star In Disney’s ‘The Lion King’

The singer will officially voice Nala

Disney has confirmed the full cast of The Lion King, which will be released in Australia in 2019.

Although some of the cast was previously revealed, the biggest announcement is that Beyoncé will voice Nala.

Other previously confirmed roles include Donald Glover starring as Simba, Seth Rogen as Pumba, Billy Eichner as Timon, John Oliver as Zazu, John Kani as Rafiki and James Earl Jones returning to the role of Mufasa.

The official synopsis of the film is:

“From Disney Live Action, director Jon Favreau’s all-new The Lion King journeys to the African savanna where a future king is born. Simba idolizes his father, King Mufasa, and takes to heart his own royal destiny. But not everyone in the kingdom celebrates the new cub’s arrival. Scar, Mufasa’s brother—and former heir to the throne—has plans of his own. The battle for Pride Rock is ravaged with betrayal, tragedy and drama, ultimately resulting in Simba’s exile. With help from a curious pair of newfound friends, Simba will have to figure out how to grow up and take back what is rightfully his.”

The film is currently set to be released in cinemas on July 19, 2019.
