Beyoncé Re-enacted An Iconic ‘Breakfast At Tiffany’s’ Scene For Her Tiffany & Co. Campaign

Moon River and Bey

Global luxury jeweler Tiffany & Co has collaborated with the Carters once again. This time for their latest campaign film “About Love”

Shot on Super 8 film by JAY-Z himself, the video captures Beyoncé, dripping in Tiffany no less, performing her very own highly anticipated rendition of Moon River, made famous in the 1961 film Breakfast At Tiffany’s.

Beyoncé croons the camera as her sultry performance seduces us into an intoxicating fantasy of longing and reunion. In Tiffany’s own words, the film captures the Carters’ indescribable chemistry through stolen moments of intimacy.

Within the film we get glimpses of one of the most  powerful couples in the world, along with the illustrious Equals Pi by Jean-Michael Basquiat in all its ‘Tiffany blue’ glory. Was this perhaps the colour Beyoncé and JAY-Z had in mind when naming their first born Blue Ivy?

The star of the show is undoubtedly the impeccable Tiffany Diamond. Amongst being one the most important gemstone discoveries of the 19th century and weighing a modest 128.54 carats, the diamond was also featured in Breakfast At Tiffany’s alongside Audrey Hepburn, and was worn by Lady Gaga to the 91st Academy Awards.

The cushion-cut diamond features 82 facets and was unearthed in 1877 in the Kimberley Mines of South Africa. The jewellery brands founder Charles Lewis Tiffany, purchased the stone the following year, with it being set into a necklace in 2012 to celebrate Tiffany & Co.’s 175th anniversary.

The brands latest ‘About Love’ campaign marks the first time that Beyoncé and Jay-Z have starred in a campaign together — and what a debut.

As part of the partnership, Tiffany & Co. is also pledging $2 million towards scholarship and internship programs for historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs).
