The Five Wedding Floral Trends That Are Set To Be In Full Bloom This Season

When you think of wedding florals, your mind typically conjures an image of a bouquet. And, while the flower's in the brides hands are an important part of the day, there are a million and one ways to incorporate florals. From table centrepieces to hanging displays and arches, the sky is well and truly the limit when it comes to giving weddings the natural touch.

While wedding flowers are a undoubtedly traditional, they still draw influence from current trends. Whether it's leaning on seasonal selections or incorporating a range of different colours, florists are always looking for new ways to reinvent the wheel.

Below, the predicted wedding floral trends that are set to blossom this year.

Gardenesque Style

"A trend we are seeing a lot this season with weddings is taking on a very gardenesque style. Over grown, organic, unstructured installations and arrangments that focus on detail in texture and movement. I think part of this also goes hand in hand with the requests of smaller more dainty bouquets that look like they’ve just been picked from the garden that morning. There’s a real effortless vibe but this doesn’t mean Brides and planners are holding back with large scale installations for impact" — The Petal Project

Colourful Creations

"We will be seeing a focus on colour with clients letting go of their inhibitions and really showcasing their unique personalities whilst encouraging a sense of fun!" — Mrs Gibbons Flowers

"2022 is rounding up to be a super colourful year. Bright and bold tones seem to be upcoming trend, with couples feeling that life is too short to celebrate with classic white and green. Pair this with quirky flowers and artistic elements, it’s going to be a stunning year" — The Lillipillian

Feeling Fruity

"Another trend we are loving is the use of fruit - this is something that has been brewing for some time now and we are really seeing it a lot this season. It can be the element that brings a whole colour palette together eg the slight redness to a ripening green pear can be the perfect injection of a warmer tone that may be more difficult to source (subtly) in flowers. Stock this season has also been a little more uncertain due to covid and the influx of rescheduled weddings. The demand for flowers is testing the industry big time and this has definitely meant florists and stylists are being more resourceful when it comes to brining a vision to life and fruit has absolutely earned a place here. Its forcing more creativity and you can really see it in everyones work this season" — The Petal Project

Full- Scale Installations

"Large scale floral installations making the reception space a serious show stopping moment. We will see fewer smaller designs and a concentration of bigger pieces allowing each piece to set the tone for the day" — Mrs Gibbons Flowers

Seasonal Selections

"Thanks once again to COVID and the shortages/price increase of flowers coming in from overseas, many couples and florists are designing weddings around locally sourced and seasonal flowers. We are really lucky in Australia to have access to a huge range of locally grown flowers so it’s great to really be able to pass these on to our couples as well" — The Lillipillian
