Body Found In Shallow Grave Believed To Be Remains Of Missing Hollywood Actress

Adea Shabani disappeared last month

Police have unearthed human remains believed to be those of missing Hollywood actress Adea Shabani in a shallow grave in Penn Valley, California, People reports.

During a press conference on Tuesday, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department told reporters, “At this point in time, we believe that those remains are the body of Miss. Adea Shabani.”

“We cannot say that conclusively at this point in time because the condition of the remains prohibited positive identification,” he continued, adding that they believe Christopher Spotz, a man authorities identified as Shabani’s boyfriend, was “somehow involved in her death.”

Last Thursday, 33-year-old Spotz shot and killed himself during a standoff with police.

As PEOPLE reports, police pursued Mr Spotz (who was driving a stolen vehicle) from Hesperia to Corona. Police say the 33-year-old shot himself with a handgun at the end of the chase.

Police pursued the car because they believed it had “possibly been used in a homicide which had occurred in Los Angeles County,” California Highway Patrol Public Information Officer Dan Olivas said. There is no suggestion the event was linked to Ms Shabani, and no further information about the homicide allegedly tied to the car has been released.

Ms Shabani, 25, was last sighted at a coffee shop near her home at around 11am on February 23. According to The Sun, Ms Shabani was reported missing after she did not show up for acting classes.

The family of Ms Shabani were offering a $25,000 reward for any information about her disappearance. In February, her mother flew to California from her native Macedonia and hired a private investigator to help find her daughter.

“I don’t know, I don’t know what to think,” Michelle Ljungcrandz said, news.com.au reports. “I just want to find her.”
