Boyfriend Of Missing Actress Kills Himself After Police Pursuit

Adea Shabani disappeared last month

The boyfriend of a missing Los Angeles model and actress has taken his own life during a police chase.

Last Thursday, 33-year-old Chris Spotz—believed to be the boyfriend of missing woman Adea Shabani—shot and killed himself during a standoff with police.

As PEOPLE reports, police pursued Mr Spotz (who was driving a stolen vehicle) from Hesperia to Corona. Police say the 33-year-old shot himself with a handgun at the end of the chase.

Police pursued the car because they believed it had “possibly been used in a homicide which had occurred in Los Angeles County,” California Highway Patrol Public Information Officer Dan Olivas said. There is no suggestion the event was linked to Ms Shabani, and no further information about the homicide allegedly tied to the car has been released.

Ms Shabani, 25, was last sighted at a coffee shop near her home at around 11am on February 23. According to The Sun, Ms Shabani was reported missing after she did not show up for acting classes. A month on, she has not been found.

The family of Ms Shabani are now offering a $25,000 reward for any information about her disappearance. In February, her mother flew to California from her native Macedonia and hired a private investigator to help find her daughter.

“I don’t know, I don’t know what to think,” Michelle Ljungcrandz said, news.com.au reports. “I just want to find her.”
