Jennifer Aniston’s 50th birthday party last weekend was undoubtedly one of the most star-studded events of the year, with the guest list boasting the likes of Courtney Cox, Gwyneth Paltrow, Reese Witherspoon, the Clooney and Kate Hudson.

Everybody was there. But it wasn’t the presence of Reese or Amal that got people talking, instead, it was Jen’s exes, with a number of them helping the Friends actor see in her birthday.
According to People, Jen’s ex John Mayer was in attendance and while her ex-husband Justin Theroux didn’t appear at the party, he did post a sweet tribute to his former wife on social media.

It was Brad Pitt’s entrance that made the most waves, with her first husband not only attending the LA bash but also reportedly giving her a sweet gift. The former couple split in 2005 after five years of marriage and have not been seen together since, but following the party it has emerged that they are now good friends, reconnecting three years ago.
“Brad contacted Jen after her mom died, and she was touched that he knew what a difficult time it was,” a source told Us Weekly. “Brad wishes he’d handled the end of their marriage in a more thoughtful manner. He asked for Jen’s forgiveness a long time ago, and she gave it.”
“Someone extended the invitation to Brad to come to Jen’s party and he accepted. But that’s the extent of it. It was a social evening with a lot of people who have been a part of her life. They definitely aren’t dating or on that path. They are friendly, but that’s it.”
Going on to speak about the former couple’s relationship, the source said: “Brad and Jen talk or text once in a while. If something comes up like a birthday or a big occasion they will reach out and congratulate the other. They don’t talk or see each other all the time. They aren’t a big part of each other’s lives currently, but they wish each other well and have fond memories about the good times they had together.”
