According to new reports, Cooper has been dating some new for “a few months now” but has chosen to keep their relationship “really quiet”.
But who is the leading lady in his life? A source reported to Page Six that Cooper’s been an item with Huma Abedin for quite some time, following his break-up with Glee star Dianna Agron.
In a further twist, the unlikely pair are not only head over heels for each other, but they were apparently set up by Anna Wintour, who is reportedly close to them individually, as per Page Six.
“Anna definitely played matchmaker,” the source explained, adding, “She’s BFFs with Bradley and adores Huma”.
Who is Huma Abedin?
While we’re well aware of Cooper and his impressive resume of work, it’s understandable to not be so familiar with Abedin.
Well, it turns out that Abedin is quite an impressive character. In 2021, Abedin published her first book, a memoir titled Both/And, which explored the “power of family, of friendship, of commitment”, as well as “the feelings of love, loss, betrayal, trauma, re-birth”.
Abedin is on Indian-Pakistani descent and has spent her entire career serving in national politics, starting as an intern in First Lady Hillary Clinton’s office in 1996.
After four years working in the White House, she worked as a Senior Advisor to Senator Clinton and even travelled as her Chief of Staff during her presidential campaign in 2008. By 2009, she became Deputy Chief of Staff at the US Department of State and in 2016, she was made Vice Chair of Hillary for America in 2016, which saw the first woman elected nominee of a major political party.
Now, Abedin’s story is being taken to the small screen with a TV adaptation in the works. According to Deadline, the New York Times bestselling memoir will see Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire) to star as Abedin in the television series.
“We thought we knew Huma’s story—the woman behind the scenes, and then reluctantly in front of the camera when her own life hit the news,” Pinto said, as per Deadline.
“Then, we read her memoir and were stunned by her candour, generosity, warmth, intelligence, and the way that her childhood, faith and family have so authentically woven through her whole life,” she said.

During the 2016 election, Abedin’s life was turned upside down. Previously married to Anthony Weiner, a former New York congressional representative, he resigned from the position in 2011 after it was revealed that he had sent inappropriate messages to women on Twitter, as per The New York Times.
In 2017, Weiner pleaded guilty to sending sexually explicit texts to minors and as a result, was sentenced to 21 months in prison. Following his sentencing, Abedin officially filed for divorce and currently raises their son, Jordan Zain Weiner.
“Bradley is a big step up from Anthony Weiner, to say the very least,” the source told the publication. According to the insider, Cooper and Abedin share a myriad of interests and are “perfect for each other”, explaining that they are both “into power and politics and human affairs”.
Given their under-the-radar status, the source claims that Abedin has only shared that she has a “new man” with “a few friends”, but she reportedly hasn’t revealed exactly who her new beau is as she is “keeping it very close to her chest”.
Back in 2021, Abedin spoke to The Cut about her split from Weiner and how the consequences of his actions had a lasting effect on her for a long time.
“I had my heart broken, dragged out, stomped on, humiliated. I lived with shame, in shame, for so long,” she said. “On the one hand, you have this person who’s making your life so easy. On the other hand, you have this person who’s doing these deeply irresponsible things, and what felt to me like very, very selfish things, and taking us down.”
As for Cooper, the Hangover alum famously dated supermodel Irina Shayk, with whom he shares five-year-old daughter Lea De Seine Shayk Cooper with.
However, the pair split in 2019 during a time when speculation that their relationship was struggling due to Cooper’s chemistry with his A Star Is Born co-star Lady Gaga ran rife. Despite being an item with her now-ex Christian Carino at the time, Gaga was forced to set the record straight, shutting down any romance rumours involving her and Cooper.
