It’d be easy to mistake Brisbane-born Bree Warren for an international supermodel. The 30-year-old splits her time between Australia (where she lives in Noosa, Queensland), the US and Europe, shooting magazine covers and campaigns for brands such as Ralph Lauren, Nordstrom and ASOS.
But this month it’s all about fashion: first, the Big Apple to attend New York Fashion Week, before flying to France to attend Paris Fashion Week.
Below, Bree shares her tips for surviving the madness, the people she looks to for style inspiration and the biggest fashion lesson she’s learnt.
What shows are you most excited for?
In New York, Self-Portrait, Dion Lee and Proenza. In Paris, it is Jacquemus, Isabel Marant, Balmain and Balenciaga.
How would you describe your personal style?
Pretty classic and low-key but always a bit sexy.
Who do you look to for style inspiration ahead of fashion week?
This changes every season! But right now I’m obsessed with @josefinehj and I love watching Danielle Bernstein’s feed @weworewhat – the amount of outfit changes she does is just next level! I also regularly check @carmengracehamilton, @vivianhoorn and @sincerelyjules
How do you decide what to wear for fashion week?
I would love to say I have everything mapped out but I don’t. Everything happens very last minute so I just go with the weather and what I feel on the day. Every year, I say I am going to be more organised next time around. Having a plan would make life so much easier!
During fashion week, what item wouldn’t you leave home without?
A fully charged phone.
What one piece can you currently not get enough of?
Anything Cult Gaia! The ultimate accessory for every outfit.
What’s the biggest fashion lesson you’ve learnt from previous fashion weeks?
Beware of clothes that crease and can’t last a day of running around! Probably my number one rule is to choose outfits that look good both sitting down and standing up.
What trends do you think we’ll see everywhere – either streets or runway – this fashion month?
A lot of transparent plastics, sheer materials, bucket hats and statement wrist bags. But probably the biggest trend I’ve seen across the board is a lot of neon, over-saturated colours… which I am still coming to terms with [Laughs].
