Rounding up exactly what brides are searching for in the lead up to their big day, Lyst has released its 2019 Wedding Report, detailing every up and coming bridal trend to know this year. As always, it’s a bit more fashion focused than say, Pinterest, and gives insight into the next big things. This year, it’s all about suiting up, breaking gender norms and baroque pearls. Read on for eight of the most unexpected trends to take out of the report — because no one wants to be a traditional bride, right?

Vintage wedding dresses

Brides are thinking sustainable and searching for vintage wedding dresses. Up 93 per cent, searches for vintage and second hand dresses have seen huge increases, no doubt due to brides wanting that extra unique element to their big day.

Hair bands

They were seen all over the street style set in February, but now it seems hair bands are making their way into bridalwear, with searches up 94 per cent.

Gowns with pockets

Get ready for more gowns with pockets! Following a viral wedding dress which featured pockets, searches for the added extra have gone up 83 per cent. 

Men’s engagement rings

Maybe it’s thanks to Ed Sheeran, but searches for men’s engagement rings are up 66 per cent year-on-year. Ladies, better start saving.

Wedding day sneakers

Comfort over fashion seems to be winning out for brides around the world, who are opting for personalised sneakers on their big day, with searches up a huge 61 per cent.

White suits

It’s time to ditch the dress, according to Lyst who have revealed searches for white suits are up 43 per cent.

Pink guest dresses

It might be thanks to the red carpet, but searches for pink dresses are up 45 per cent, leading us to believe wedding guests are opting for the feminine hue when picking out their outfit.

Pearl earrings

With searches up a huge 109 per cent since the start of the year, pearl earrings are the trend that keeps on going. Opt for irregularly shaped baroque styles to stay with the It crowd.
