Regencycore Hair Is Our Next ‘Bridgerton’ Obsession

“Eloise was a feminist and a tomboy, who hates the constrictions of dresses and corsets. I gave Eloise a mullet hairstyle, which was a Regency era style, and suited her personality. I topped if off with Grecian-style ribbons to keep her looking young, and because her mother probably would have made her wear them!”  shares Marc.

“The character of Cressida was based on Nellie Olson from Little House on the Prairie – all sugary sweet on the outside, but catty and mean on the inside.

It was so important to tell a story through the hair and makeup at the Prince’s Ball, so I sculpted her wired braids into the shape of a crown. The purpose for this was to show how hard Cressida was trying to convince the Prince that she should be his Princess,” describes Pilcher.

“Philipa and Prudence were our comedy duo, like the ugly sisters from Cinderella, but we still wanted them to look pretty,” Pilcher explains.

Complete with curly bangs, “Philipa had a slight 1940s feel to her but still in the Regency period, topped off with flowers and gaudy hair jewels to match her colourful dresses.”

“Siena was our opera singer, so I wanted her to be more gypsy-like, with a free spirit feel. I used the Grecian silhouette of the period, but with loose ringlets tumbling over her shoulders.”

“My favourite look of all was Queen Charlotte’s wig for the Hastings Ball. The mix of locks with hair bows, bird cages and birds was a show-stopper! When dressing this out, we used HASK Argan Oil from Morocco Repairing Hair Oil, which helped to keep the hair smooth and frizz-free. This product is a must have.”
