Queensland 15-Year-Old In Hospital After Alleged Assault

She was reportedly punched and kicked in the head

A 15-year-old girl is fighting for her life after she was allegedly assaulted by a group in south-west Brisbane. 

According to Nine News, the teenager was reportedly walking home from a party in the early hours of Tuesday when she was attacked. 

Warwick detective Sergeant Darren Tamblyn told the Courier Mail that the girl was allegedly punched and kicked in the head. 

“The girl’s friend had fled to the other friend’s home to find help and call for help,” he said.

“When she took flight a shift worker returning to Warwick from Wacol … stopped to provide first aid and call the police.”

Det Sgt Tamblyn explained that the 15-year-old was flown to Princess Alexandra Hospital.

“She has now undergone emergency surgery for a brain injury and she remains in an induced coma,” he said. 

A 16-year-old girl and an 18-year-old woman have been charged with grievous bodily harm. The teenager has also been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm.
