Britney Spears Now Has Only 30 Per Cent Custody Of Her Two Sons

Kevin Federline has been granted more custodial rights

2019 is not Britney Spears’ year. Between taking an “indefinite” break from work following her father Jamie Spears’ life-threatening colon rupture to checking herself into a 30-day mental health facility, it’s been a challenging year for the pop star thus far.

And things are unfortunately not looking up. Her former husband Kevin Federline, who is also the father of her two sons Sean Preston, 13, and Jayden James, 12, has asked the courts to change their custody agreement.

Instead of a 50-50 custody arrangement, K-Fed has been granted 70% custody, with Britney only receiving 30% of unsupervised custodial rights.

The new arrangement has actually been in effect since August 2018, but the pair chose to test it out first before formalising the terms. TMZ reports they made it official last week when they filed the documentation on August 28.

Kevin’s decision to make the new agreement official is off the back of a recent incident involving his children while they were in Britney’s care, his attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan told People

Britney’s father is currently under investigation by law enforcement following allegations on August 25 that Jamie got into a physical altercation with Britney’s son Sean Preston.

“There was a disagreement that occurred while Britney and the children were visiting with Jamie at his home that led to a physical altercation. Britney did the right thing and removed the children and took them out of there, but the trauma to the kids is nonetheless,” said Kaplan.
