Brooke Boney Shares Her Natural Beauty Rules For Glowing Skin

Plus her tips for waking up looking refreshed and hydrated

When it comes to beauty, Today entertainment reporter Brooke Boney knows what she likes, and how to achieve her signature luminous skin in a flash. Below, Boney talks marie claire through her on-the-go morning routine, her all-purpose skin, body and hair hidden gems and natural skincare that packs a punch.

How would you describe your bathroom cupboard?

Quite sparse! When I was younger I would jump on trends, but now I’m so in tune with what I like and what works for me. This is why I’ve chosen to pair up with Andalou Naturals – natural skincare that’s actually really effective which doesn’t compromise on my values.

What is one surprising beauty product you always have in your beauty cupboard?

I love coconut oil. I keep heaps of it because I can use it for everything. I put it in my hair, on my feet, on my skin. I use it all the time.

When it comes to your beauty routine, would you say you’re high or low maintenance?

Unfortunately, I am probably pretty high maintenance, mainly because I have to wear so much makeup on-air each morning. I need to be aware of clogged pores and breakouts. When I was growing up, I didn’t wear as much sunscreen as I should have. Now I have to counter pigmentation. Sometimes that feels like a full-time job in its own right.

If you could only have five products in your makeup bag, what would they be?

Andalou’s Sensitive 1000 Roses Floral Toner – smells divine and sits so well under my tinted moisturiser and handy for a quick freshen on-the-go, Victoria Beckham eyeliner, an eyebrow pencil of some description, Ultra Violette lip balm, and Nars liquid blush.

What does your skincare routine look like?

In the morning, I have a very simple cleanser, serum, and moisturising routine. In the evening, I take things up a notch. Being on-air so early in the day, I’ve come to realise how vital my evening skin routine is to ensure my skin looks plumped and hydrated.

An absolute essential for me is the Andalou Naturals Pumpkin Honey Glycolic Mask, this helps to target my skin pigmentation and peel away surface dead skin cells to reveal the ultimate skin upgrade. I equally love the Andalou Naturals Age Defying Wrinkle Dermal Filler for those mornings when the bags are a little extra.

Do you have a signature fragrance?

Perfume can feel a bit strong for me. I prefer to skim a scented oil on my wrist or across my chest. One that I particularly like is Labdanum by Le Labo

Any hair products you’re wedded to?

I like Kevin Murphy products for my hair because I find they clean my hair really well. I’m particularly fond of Blonde.Angel. It is the perfect toning colour for my hair. I also love the David Mallett treatment as it works to repair/prevent damage to my hair from blow dryers and tongs.

Do you have any self-care rituals or products you like to treat yourself with?

I have resolved that you can’t cheat your way to good skin. I learned the hard way. Now I drink a lot of water, wear sunscreen, exercise every day, and stick to my skincare regimen morning and night. Indulging in a weekly mask helps me to slow down too. My skin is much more radiant for those daily disciplines.
