Christmas has officially arrived at Buckingham Palace with a video shared to the Royal Family’s Twitter page revealing Christmas trees, covered in crown baubles (naturally), and decorations which have been reused across decades.
The post reveals that the Christmas tree was first introduced to Britain in the 18th Century by Queen Charlotte, consort of King George III. Since then, the Royal Family has continued to decorate their residences for the festive season.
In the video below, you can see a 15ft Nordmann fir tree from Great Windsor Park in the palace’s Marble Hall, with two smaller firs in the Grand Entrance.
The Grand Staircase has also been decorated with tinsel and colourful baubles.
We’re pretty sure Meghan Markle, who is spending her first Christmas with the Royal Family and her husband-to-be, Prince Harry, will not be disappointed.
