Buckingham Palace Issues Rare Statement To Deny Meghan Markle’s Baby Has Been Born

Shutting down claims the couple had already welcomed Baby Sussex

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are still waiting patiently for their first child to arrive, Buckingham Palace has confirmed in a rare statement.

On Thursday, May 3, despite rampant reports Meghan Markle and Prince Harry had welcomed Baby Sussex and refraining from telling the world, Buckingham Palace told CBS News these claims were false. Meghan’s exact due date hasn’t been made public by the royal couple, who have chosen to keep the details surrounding the birth of Baby Sussex as private as possible. All the world knows is that her baby was due around the end of April or beginning of May.

Buckingham Palace announced on May 2 that the Duke of Sussex will visit the Netherlands on Wednesday, May 8, and Thursday, May 9 – just one week from now. That likely means that the royal couple will welcome Baby Sussex within the next few days. A Palace source said on Wednesday, “No royal baby yet”, per Vanity Fair. “It’s a waiting game, it’s up to Mother Nature”. People assert that Meghan and Harry will inform the world when the Duchess goes into labour, but will not reveal any more information until they’ve had the chance the enjoy the new arrival privately.

Chris Ship, ITV’s Royal Editor, responded to claims there was a “conspiracy” the couple was keeping the news private. “For anyone asking (and lots have)  has not been born yet. There is no . The birth is NOT being kept secret. There is no conspiracy. Hope that’s clear,” he wrote.

Rebecca English, the Daily Mail’s Royal Correspondent said, “ isn’t secretly here, I’m assured.”

While we won’t know anything until a formal announcement, royal fans remain glued to the @sussexroyal Instagram account, where it’s widely expected the couple will post news of the birth.
