Bumble Bizz Wants To Give YOU Money To Build Your Business

Women-led businesses can win a $5,000 grant - by Alley Pascoe
  • 16 Sep 2019
Bumble Bizz Wants To Give YOU Money To Build Your Business

In exciting news, women are now more likely than men to start a business – and women-owned businesses have increased 3000 per cent since 1972.

In less-exciting news, women-owned businesses receive only one per cent of government and corporate procurement dollars.

Bumble Bizz is working to change that, announcing an APAC wide pitch competition for women in business.

Run across Australia, Hong Kong, India, New Zealand, the Philippines and Singapore, the competition will award a winner from each region a USD$5,000 grant to help establish their company.

Plus, the winners will be flown to Sydney for the inaugural APAC Bumble Bizz Summit where they will hear from powerhouse entrepreneurs Elle Fergusson, Lana Wilkinson, Lindsay Jang, Liv Lo Golding, Maggie Marilyn, Malini Agarwal, Martine Ho and Roxy Jacenko.

Today we're thrilled to launch our APAC Bumble Bizz pitch competition, awarding six women-led businesses a $5,000 USD grant to help establish their companies. The competition will run in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, the Philippines and India. To apply for the grant or nominate a business head into any of the 3 modes of Bumble. The winners of the grant will be flown to Sydney to attend our first Bumble Bizz Summit (details to be announced soon)!

“In awarding the grants we’ll be looking for businesses that have a clear mission and aim to solve a real world problem,” says Bumble APAC Marketing Director, Michelle Battersby. “We’ll be asking applicants to show why their business exists, how it is currently funded, and how the grant will support future growth.”

Applications for the pitch competition are now open through the Bumble app, and the competition closes at 12pm AEST on Friday September 27 2019.

“For us at Bumble, this is about providing opportunities for women entrepreneurs and opening up more pathways to success for them, while also encouraging them to make the first move with their business ventures,” adds Battersby.

Get it, girls!
