The ubiquity of Calvin Klein’s minimal underwear is well established, with the brand’s comfortable, thick-waistbanded basics found everywhere from the #MyCalvins Instagram tag to your own underwear drawer. With their recent Reconsidered Comfort collection, the brand is also trying to make things slightly better for the planet.
The new underwear and dual-gender loungewear range has been created using sustainably sourced materials and contributes to the circular textile economy through its use of recycled materials.
Modelled on the likes of Kaia Gerber, Rina Sawayama and Vinson Fraley, the new pieces use Tencel Refibra technology that sees cotton scraps created during garment production turned into cotton pulp.
This is then added to wood pulp and the combined raw materials are used to make new Tencel Lyocell fibres. And those aforementioned waistbands? The Reconsidered Comfort range sees them made with 40% recycled polyester.
