Camilla And Marc Just Kicked Off Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia With A Bang

Life on Mars 💫

Hot off the (literal) back of future Duchess Meghan Markle, Camilla and Marc kicked off Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia tonight, complete with an A-list front row, international supermodel, 60 tonnes of sand and 800 onlookers.

The persistent rain, and the fact that the show coincided with Mother’s Day, did nothing to stop Sydney’s style set from stepping out in force for the occasion (sorry, mum).

Everyone from actress and Chris Hemsworth’s wife Elsa Pataky to Jess Gomes, Victoria Lee and Anna Heinrich sat front and centre with Victoria’s Secret model Georgia Fowler popping out for pre-show photos.

Sydney’s Royal Hall of Industries was transformed into what looked like the dry Australian outback, complete with red rock boulders, sand and uneven flooring.

But upon looking up, a huge full moon instantly made you realise you’d been transported to outer space, fitting for the futuristic collection we were about to see on the runway, featuring metallics, sparkles and aviators.

Designers Camilla Freeman-Topper and Marc Freeman, who are celebrating 15 years in business this year, describe the collection as being inspired “by strong, future-thinking women.”

“Masculine tailoring meets feminine silhouettes; a sensual yet powerful play that conveys understated luxury.”

The duo stepped out to close the show with overwhelming cheers of applause erupting from the crowd. It’s safe to say MBFWA was opened in style.
