South African born mother-of-two Candice Swanepoel walked in Fendi's autumn/winter '20 Haute Couture show, debuting a very different hairstyle than we're used to seeing on the signature blonde. At the show, which was staged outside the Colosseum in Rome, Swanepoel rocked a glossy jet-black bob with rounded bangs - the chicest '70s inspired shag with a modern Roman twist.
The shag is set to be huge this season. Case in point? The sheer volume was seen on Fendi's runway. Every other model on the runway (including Kaia Gerber, Cindy Crawford's daughter) wore varying iterations of the same wig—some blonde, some brunette, and others featuring blue or green hues.
Hairstylist extraordinaire Sam McKnight explained the significance behind each unique hair colour, revealing that wigs were each dyed a different "shade of Roman Marble. Greys, pinks, apricots, degrade from lights to darks."
"Matching your hair colour to your outfit is the new black," McNight wrote on Instagram.
