Schwarzkopf has just announced media personality Carissa Walford as its Australian ambassador. marie claire sits down with the charismatic influencer about her beauty routine, her must-have products, and her love of hair colour.
You’re the new ambassador for Schwarzkopf. What do you love about the brand?
I’m so excited to be working with Schwarzkopf. I’ve loved their products since I was a teenager… I love to try bold new colours and different styles, and I gravitate towards their huge range of hair dyes.
What is one hair product you can’t live without?
I wash my hair every 2-3 days but in between, dry shampoo is a staple. I like something that smells fresh but has a little bit of hold too, like the Schwarzkopf Got 2 Be Volume Dry Shampoo.
We love your new red shade. Tell us about it.
I’ve been every colour under the sun – from blonde, to pink, to brunette and now red. I used the shade 43 Red Passion from Schwarzkopf’s Brilliance range to create my vibrant ruby tone.
What do you love to do with your hair for a special occasion? Do you have a hairstylist you like to call on?
I plan my hair as part of the entire look, so my outfit and makeup influence the style I go for – recently I’ve been gravitating towards a slicked back, wet look at the roots with texture through the ends. Makeup artist and hair stylist Max May introduced me to this style and I’m obsessed – he just knows my hair and face so well.
What is your daily skincare routine for day and night?
I’m currently using the La Prairie White Caviar Skincare collection for hydration and brightness. I also love a good face mask twice a week – Estée Lauder Micro Essence Infusion + Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Face Masks are incredible, and I can’t go anywhere without my Venustus Jade Face Roller which helps smooth out fine lines, & reduce puffiness. I’ve been trying to stay on top of my SPF 50 for during the day and love the La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL SPF 50+ Ultra Light sunscreen.
Do you have any skin treatments you like to book in for?
I visit the beautiful ladies Kaye and Lisa at The Clinic who look after my skin. I’m all about regular treatments no matter the season, as your skin and hair is always changing with the changes in weather and sun exposure.
