Carrie Bickmore Expresses Her Heartfelt Thanks To Australia

A staggering $2.1-million has been raised so far

Since her husband died from brain cancer in 2010, Carrie Bickmore has made it her mission to help find a cure. Her fundraising charity, Beanies 4 Brain Cancer, has raised $4.5-million in just three years – a figure that’s soared enormously in the last 24 hours alone.

Last night’s episode of The Project was dedicated to raising funds and awareness of the campaign, kicking off Brain Cancer Awareness month across Australia. Amazingly, by the end of the show Carrie revealed they had raised $2.1-million for brain cancer research.

Now, Carrie has taken to Instagram to thank Australia and everyone involved.  “I am bloody fortunate to have real, genuine, supportive friends in this industry. Mates who will bungy jump, try their hand at stand up and re-arrange their packed schedules to help out,” she captions one post.

“Australia you beautiful beautiful people. What a night. Thank you for your generosity. Blown away,” she writes in another.

Beanies 4 Brain Cancer has just launched two new cap and beanie designs. They aim to raise a further $5-million this year, as the Australian government has pledged to match each donation dollar for dollar up to that amount.
