Just an hour later, Lisa shared more news with fans - she would be joining Carrie Bickmore, Waleed Aly and Peter Helliar on Channel Ten's The Project from 2018.
This morning, Lisa's TODAY co-host Karl Stefanovic spoke on air about how much she would be missed, saying: "Thank you for the laughs, the sage advice, the calmness, oh, the calmness. And thank you for all of your support."
Then, on tonight's episode of The Project, hosts Carrie, Waleed and Peter expressed how excited they were to have Lisa join the panel.
After showing a video montage of Lisa's career over the years, Carrie said: “We’re crazy excited, Nine’s loss is our gain."
"Lisa is an incredible woman, smart, funny, down to earth and we couldn’t be more excited", she continued.
"I’ve always really loved Lisa and it’s nice to be able to contractually say that now", Waleed joked.
