Carrie Bickmore’s Latest Instagram Is Beyond Relatable

Serial nappers know

In every sense of the word, Carrie Bickmore is a superwoman. The 38-year-old mother-of-three works two high-profile jobs, one as the host of Channel Ten’s The Project and the other as the co-host of the Hit Network’s Carrie & Tommy show. Not to mention she’s been successfully running Carrie’s Beanies 4 Brain Cancer Foundation since 2015, helping raise millions towards brain cancer research.

But, the 38-year-old television host has given a rare glimpse into the side we don’t normally get to see. Taking to Instagram this week, Carrie shared a candid photo of herself sleeping on the couch alongside her newborn daughter Adelaide.

INSTAGRAM verses REALITY (swipe right) 🤣,” she captioned. “1st pic was taken on a flattering angle, with some props, some casual hand positioning, some clever cropping and a nice little filter added. The 2nd was the real moment captured without my knowledge a couple of weeks after Adelaide was born before I woke up and suggested we take a nice shot.”

Carrie’s followers praised her for being so candid about motherhood, with one person writing: “It can be sheer exhaustion! Thanks for sharing this real life picture. I can definitely relate.”

Keeping it real,” another added, while a third echoed, “I love you even more for posting this!”

Carrie and her partner Chris Walker welcomed their second child Adelaide in December. The couple also shares three-year-old daughter Evie, while Carrie also has a son, eleven-year-old Oliver, from her previous marriage to Greg Lange, who died of brain cancer in 2010.

The popular host has never shied away from telling her followers about the struggles of new motherhood. Earlier this month, Carrie shared a sweet snap of herself breastfeeding Adelaide alongside partner Chris, which she captioned with a brutally honest account detailing the ups and downs she’s experienced.

Some of Carrie’s ‘downs’ included: Googling ‘what is reflux at 3am’, surviving on four hours broken sleep, being diagnosed with mastitis, and eating meals with one hand.

But, the doting mum added these are enormously outweighed by the ‘ups’, with her “bursting with love and gratitude.”

Carrie’s post was flooded with supportive comments.

“This is so so accurate! Sums up everything I have felt with mine. Thanks for your honesty,” one mother commented.

Another said, “Couldn’t have said it better myself Carrie! That list sums up the newborn fog perfectly.”
