Princess Charlotte Casiraghi of Monaco and her finance film producer Dimitri Rassam have unexpectedly broken up after the arrival of their son in October 2018. According to Hola! the couple called off their engagement following an irreconcilable "rift" due to "personality incompatibility."
Charlotte, who is the eldest daughter of Princess Caroline, is eighth in line to Monaco’s throne. Dimitri and Casiraghi started dating in 2016 after being introduced by mutual friends over dinner, a source told People. They share a similar upbringing and both graduated from Sorbonne University in Paris and each has children from previous relationships.
Charlotte has a 4-year old son, Raphael, from a previous relationship. Dimitri shares a daughter with ex-wife model, Masha Novoselova.
Charlotte and Dimitri announced their engagement at the Rose Ball 2018 To Benefit The Princess Grace Foundation in Monte Carlo on March 24. Charlotte, 31, confirmed the news debuting her stunning engagement ring at the black-tie affair which she attended alongside her 36-year-old fiance.
The royal made a statement in a feathered Saint Laurent dress, despite the dramatic detail little could be done to detract from her royal diamond ring.
