A witch’s work is never done

Dust off your copy of The Book of Shadows and grab those low-rise jeans; it looks like Charmed is coming back to television screens.

In the tradition of the Will & Grace, Heathers and Sabrina The Teenage Witch rebootsCharmed is being reincarnated for today’s TV audience with a modern spin.

As EW reports, the CW Network has ordered a pilot of the series written by Jane the Virgin’s Jessica O’Toole and Amy Rardin.

Plans to set Charmed in the 1970s have been scrapped it will now take place in the present day with a feminist spin.

“This fierce, funny, feminist reboot of the original series centres on three sisters in a college town who discover they are witches,” the CW show description reads.

“Between vanquishing supernatural demons, tearing down the patriarchy, and maintaining familial bonds, a witch’s work is never done.”

Wicked.

We’re now taking bets on what cult ’90s and ’00s series will be rebooted next.
