When it comes to Cannes Film Festival, there’s no gown too long, no beauty look too OTT and no piece of jewellery too opulent. It is, of course, the biggest event on the French social scene, so when celebrities get dressed for Cannes they don’t hold back.
For 2019, we saw Bella Hadid in Dior haute couture, Margot Robbie in Chanel and Selena Gomez in the perfect cardigan two-piece. It was one of the best red carpets in recent memory, with stars going above and beyond to craft the perfect premiere and photocall looks. But there was one element that remained consistent across all of the biggest names: their jewellery.
Turning to Chopard, the iconic Swiss jewellery maison, celebrities like Julianne Moore, Léa Seydoux, Adriana Lima and Chloë Sevigny all finished their looks with an exquisite jewel. From a diamond necklace to a statement band, there were more diamonds than dresses on the carpet at some points. Below, we’ve rounded up our favourite Chopard pieces from the festival in these behind-the-scenes photos taken by photographer Greg Williams — partly as eye candy and partly to convince ourselves that yes, dripping in fabulous accessories is the way to attain movie star-level status of chic.
