‘Selling Sunset’ Star Chrishell Stause Admits She and Jason Oppenheim Dated for 2 Months Before Going Public

"It’s so funny how the show twists things."

It’s been almost one month since Selling Sunset stars Chrishell Stause and Jason Oppenheim went public with their relationship, sharing a loved-up image of themselves while holidaying in Italy.

But now, Chrishell is getting candid about her relationship with Jason.

In an interview with E! News’ Daily Pop, the 40-year-old ex-soap star explained that she and Jason began their romance two months before they went Instagram official.

Sharing why they decided to keep their relationship private for so long, Chrishell explained that they wanted to know what their relationship would grow to be, before they opened it up to public scrutiny.

“It’s just one of those things. You don’t want to share with everybody and get all their opinions before you really know what it is,” Chrishell said. “We really were really private and secretive for as long as we could until we realised the walls were closing in.”

“People were getting a little savvy to it. We made it to a point where we’re really happy to share it because we knew exactly what it was, so it’s all good,” she continued.

As for how their co-worker, and Jason’s ex-girlfriend, thought of their romance, Chrishell revealed that Mary Fitzgerald was actually the first person she told about her new relationship.

“We’re all just so close and we all work just so close together, and there’s no hiding it from Mary,” she revealed. “We work together constantly. She’s our best friend,” Chrishell said, adding that there’s no awkwardness between the trio.

“That was so many years ago,” she said. “I just feel like, we’re all best friends at this point. Her and Romain [Bonnet] are so happy. It just feels like a family business…In fact, it was fine that she knew because she could kind of detract any [attention] because Mary‘s there, so we’re all just hanging out as a group.”

“It’s so funny how the show twists things, the real dynamics in the office, because they don’t go around giving us listings,” she explained about the rumours of Jason playing favourites with Mary at the Oppenheim office.

“If anyone knows real estate, you have to go out and get your own listings. Mary‘s always going to be the rock in the office, somebody we all lean on and go to when we need advice.”

There you have it, Chrishell and Jason have Mary’s blessing, and quite frankly, they have ours too.
