While Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause might have a stacked real estate portfolio in Los Angeles, she’s now gone into escrow on herself.

In an appearance on Lipstick on the Rim podcast, the 40-year-old agent shared how it felt to film her popular Netflix real estate show, all while going through a very public divorce from ex-husband Justin Hartley.

Fans of the show will recall that Justin filed for divorce, seemingly out of nowhere, after two years of marriage. On the show, Chrishell was thrown by the news, which she supposedly received from her ex via text message.

While most were sympathetic and heartbroken for her, some questioned why Chrishell would have wanted such a private, personal moment filmed for millions of viewers to see. The reason? Chrishell felt that abandoning her professional life, that she’d worked so hard to build, would feel as if she’d given up all she had left.

“That was obviously very humiliating and the fact that I still had to film a reality show, it was either that or quit,” she told host Molly Sims.

“But all of a sudden, I lost everything, and I didn’t want to lose the one thing that I worked really hard to have, which was my job and a new career, and so I pushed through.”

Choosing to push through the pain, Chrishell explained that the decision to broadcast her tribulations worked out for the best.

“That show coming out—people then connecting with me in the middle of a pandemic and sharing their stories with me—has completely changed my mindset of being open about things versus not,” she explained, adding, “I think transparency is so much better than trying to pretend your life is perfect.”

Fans of the Selling Sunset star would know that this isn’t the first time she’s publicly discussed her divorce from the This Is Us actor. Back in early April, Chrishell opened up about how she had to sell her wedding ring so she could afford to buy her new, dream home.

“I will say when sometimes life gives you lemons, sometimes you gotta add a little vodka,” she revealed on The Kelly Clarkson Show, adding, “I was trying to, you know, make the best out of a situation.”

As we know, once Chrishell was ready to move on, she did so, rather close to home. Dating Selling Sunset co-star Jason Oppenheim for around six months, the former soap star explained that she’s now moved on from her marriage.

“I am past those things,” she told host Kelly Clarkson. “I am healed. There’s no anger there.”

Of course, if Chrishell is happy, then so are we. However, what would make us even happier would be a sixth season of Selling Sunset.
