Turns out, there are a slew of Selling Sunset fans who find Chrishell Stause’s personality “annoying”—and she doesn’t mind.
It has been less than two months since the fourth season of the luxury real estate series took to our screens, but it wasn’t until now that Stause has become inundated with opinions on how she behaves on screen.
Taking to Twitter, the soap-star-turned-agent shared with her almost 130K followers that she agrees with the public discourse about her onscreen persona, and explained that it’s a result of her previous career in acting.
“When people watch #sellingsunset & get annoyed by my personality. Honestly, same,” Stause wrote in her tweet.
“I think years of auditioning clicks a weird part of my brain when speaking to camera to be ‘ON’ and I am working on it,” she explained, adding, “But girl just relax. By the time we’re cancelled I’ll get it”.
One swipe through Twitter’s hashtag for Selling Sunset and fans can bear witness to a plethora of memes, ranging from hilarious moments on the show to impersonations of the series’ stars.
For example, that TikTok recreation of when the realtors were awkwardly dancing on the yacht in season four is still doing the rounds online.
Is reliving the show through memes hilarious? Yes. Are the majority of fans in any way hating on the cast or the way they act onscreen? Absolutely not, that is, unless you’re Christine or Davina for obvious reasons.
As for Stause, she has previously spoken out about how she interacts with fans of the show, explaining that “you really have to laugh” at the back and forth of online chatter.
“Truly, I find these things entertaining at this point,” she told People earlier this month.
“Now, granted, I’ve been doing this for a while, so it takes a while to get to that point. But it’s just funny when clearly someone is so upset with a stranger’s life that it has ruined their day.”
“If you can see it that way, you can have a little empathy, where it’s like, ‘Oh my goodness, you need to get your focus and your priorities in a different place’,” Stause continued.
“Because if I woke up that upset about a stranger’s life, I would definitely be doing something wrong… So I think you just have to laugh at it. If you’re not in on the joke, you are the joke.”
While certain viewers of the reality TV series may have an issue with Stause’s onscreen presence, we—AKA pretty huge Selling Sunset fans—don’t think she needs to change one bit.
