Teigen continued to explain that on June 19, the day her husband released his latest album Bigger Love, Teigen took another test—which turned out to be positive.
Nervous that her surgery would impact her pregnancy, Teigen admitted that it frightened her, saying: “I was scared. Was pretty positive you shouldn't get your boobs out while pregnant?”
“So we prayed to the boob surgery gods that everything would be okay. Went to every appointment terrified. Even without the surgery, I didn’t think I could get pregnant naturally anyway.”
The couple conceived their two children Luna, 4, and Miles, 2, through IVF, so finding out they conceived naturally came as a surprise to them.
"For many years now, I've taken pregnancy tests almost every month, praying to see a positive one day. Just wishful thinking. I never had a positive before," she revealed.
She went on to add that “when you give up on trying, life has a way of surprising you. In summary, my boobs hurt.”
Last week, fans speculated that the couple had broken their baby news in the video, after the film clip featured footage of Teigen and Legend holding her stomach.
But Teigen didn’t leave her huge social media following waiting for too long, confirming the news on her Instagram Story with a new look at her baby bump.
“Look at this third baby s***,” she said while stroking her stomach.
Teigen has prevously opened up about her struggles with postpartum depression following the birth of their daughter Luna, with Legend also speaking to People magazine about how he prioritised being a "rock" for Teigen, during the difficult time.
"[Parenthood] deepens your love for your partner because you see them in a different light going through, in our case, the trouble of actually having a kid," he said.
"Then Chrissy's going through postpartum depression. You just see different sides of that person, and if you go through it and you learn from it and you come out the other end better for it, then it deepens and strengthens your relationship."
