Chrissy Teigen Reveals Details Of Postpartum Depression In Very Candid Interview

"I was drinking too much"

Two days ago Twitter queen Chrissy Teigen made her first appearance on the red carpet since giving birth to her son, Miles, in May.

The mother of two was accompanied by her Grammy-winning husband John Legend while attending the British GQ Men of the Year Awards, following their very long family vacation in Bali.

The family’s connection to Bali and the focus on quality family time make sense after Teigen’s most recent, and very brave, interview with Women’s Health magazine.

The mother of two spoke openly about her postpartum depression following the birth of her daughter Luna, (now two) and the struggle to write a follow-up cookbook to Teigen’s massively popular debut cookbook Cravings

The 32-year-old opened up about a time in her life where she was “drinking too much” and “not being good” to her body.

Teigen told Women’s Health, “After Luna, I was drinking too much. I wasn’t eating as much because I was full from drinking. I wasn’t being good to my body. I remember being so bruised from nothing.”

The process of writing her follow-up cookbook Cravings: Hungry For More (out September 18) was described by Teigen as “torturous” as she continued spiralled downwards, drinking heavily and not taking care of herself.

The straight-talking model explained how her decision to start anti-depressants and escape to a wellness retreat in Bali, encouraged a different outlook on life.

“It’s like, what could be more important than mental health? What’s more important than being proud of yourself and doing the best you can for your body?”

The model, mother, activist, author, and sworn enemy of Donald Trump, has proven once again why we will always love her.
