At marie claire HQ, to be completely mesmerised by a pair of shoes is nothing new (it comes with the territory), but these new Christian Louboutins had our whole office enthralled for longer than the norm.
Celebrity stylist Samantha McMillen (whose client roll call includes Carey Mulligan, Amber Heard, Dakota and Elle Fanning) gave the world its first look at the sparkly new boots, which magically change colour with the wave of a hand.
“I’m calling this ‘Unicorn skin,’” McMillen captioned the post. “Fancy new sequined boots @louboutinworld of course #unicornskin”
Christian Louboutin is keeping mum on the details, which Allure reports will be available come mid-May. They’re not the only ones giving glitter boots a go – both Saint Laurent and Chanel revealed super-sparkly designs at their recent A/W ’17-18 shows.

The boots are the latest in a slew of oh-so-sparkly, shimmery, holographic ‘Unicorn’ looks to grace Instagram – first came the beauty looks (in pastel-pretty nail art, eyeshadow and lipstick form), then Unicorn toast, smoothies and now… shoes. But these are by far our favourites.
