Coty Will Produce Hand Sanitisers for Medical & Emergency Services

The mega beauty company announces it’s joining the fight against COVID19

One of the world’s largest beauty company’s Coty, which houses makeup, fragrance and haircare brands such as Rimmel, Covergirl, Chloe and Wella, has announced that it will join other beauty and fashion companies in the fight against the spread of COVID19 by turning its factories to the production of hand sanitisers.

With production of its first batches of hand sanitiser already underway at Coty factories in the United States and Monaco, additional factories, usually used for the production of fragrance, haircare and makeup, have been scheduled to start production of sanitiser this week.

Made from hydro-alcoholic gel, the hand sanitises Coty produces will be free of charge and distributed to the medical and emergency services, who are facing shortages of the vital hand cleanser due to the fast-spreading COVID-19 virus.

“As a responsible beauty company, we make our resources and facilities available to help the communities we are operating in during these exceptionally challenging times,” says

Pierre Laubies, Coty CEO. “We are proud to support the brave professionals fighting on the front-lines against COVID-19 by providing hand sanitiser where it is needed.”

The company says it expects to be able to donate “tens of thousands of units per week” to those on the medical front line. The hand santisers will also be distributed to Coty employees working in the plants, as well as pharmacy staff.

“The health and safety of our employees is our top priority and we will take all possible measures and precautions to keep them healthy and safe as they work to protect our communities that we care for and serve,” says Pierre-André Terisse, Coty COO. “We are incredibly proud of our associates who are stepping up to contribute to the global fight against COVID-19.”
