In a twist worthy of the silver screen, the 55-year-old grabs a pair of killer scissors and chops into her locks without the use of a mirror (or hairstylist, may we add).
If that wasn't enough to instill pure fear into our hearts, someone jumps out from behind the sofa in a Scream mask.
After surviving the ordeal, fans rushed to comment on the post with a number keeping their fingers crossed that the former Friends star was wearing a wig.
One concerned follower commented, "I hope your bangs weren’t hurt in the making of this!"
"Please tell me it was just a wig," another pleaded.
Thankfully, Cox didn't have to cut her real hair for the third movie as the actress recently revealed that she regrets agreeing to the controversial aesthetic.

"I liked to change her hair every time," she recalled in reference to the film franchise. "I had these bangs and they were cut too short. At that time in my life, I wasn't the kind of person who would say, 'You know what? These are too short. We need to get new bangs.'"
"In reality I should have said, 'No, no, no we have to get new bangs'," Cox continued. "I did not stick up for myself and hence I look horrible. That was a big lesson - take care of yourself."
We sure hope she has a decent hairstylist on speed dial.
