After the sad news of Alexis Arquette’s passing, tributes began to roll in from her famous siblings, fans and fellow stars.
One star, her former sister-in-law Courtney Cox, took to Twitter to share a heartfelt tribute.
“My heart goes out to anyone who was lucky enough to know Alexis,” she wrote. “We will love and miss you forever.”
Alexis, who starred in movies including Pulp Fiction and The Wedding Singer, passed away on September 11 surrounded by family and friends as she listened to David Bowie’s 'Starman'.
“Our brother Robert, who became our brother Alexis, who became our sister Alexis, passed this morning September 11, at 12:23am,” her brother Richmond wrote on Facebook.
“He was surrounded by all of his brothers and sisters, one of his nieces and several other loves ones. We were playing music for him and he passed during David Bowie’s ‘Starman.’
"As per his wishes, we cheered at the moment that he transitioned to another dimension.”
People have reported that her cause of death was due to "complications related to AIDS".
Arquette, who was born a male, transitioned to female in 2006, which was the subject of a documentary titled Alexis Arquette: She’s My Brother.
