Last year, they gave us the It-bag of the season (the iconic bamboo Ark clutch), and now, fashion brand Cult Gaia has hosted their first runway show.

Complete with dreamy patterns, summer pastels, resort-ready sundresses and – you guessed it – statement handbags.

Designer Jasmin Larian launched the Insta-famous L.A. brand in 2014, with a $7,000 investment from her father (who is the creator or Bratz dolls – cool).

In the last few years, the brand has expanded from handbags to include clothing, shoes and jewellery. The brand has 331,000 followers on Instagram and has been worn by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Jessica Alba and Chriselle Lim.

And if Cult Gaia’s first runway show is anything to go by, they’re just going to keep growing – and going viral on Insta.

Held in Malibu, the show was a love letter to L.A. “It’s such a beautiful backdrop, and I like using the contrast of architecture and nature as inspiration. L.A. is in our DNA. So much of our brand is built around the weather and lifestyle,” Larian told the Hollywood Reporter.

The collection is a testament to Larian’s unique and understated style, “It’s all about making products that are attention-grabbing, unique and different but not overdone.”

Our favourite? The acrylic Luna crossbody bag with its beaded stone strap.
