Danish Submarine Inventor Accused Of Murdering Kim Wall Had Pictures Of Hanged Girls

Warning: grapic content

Peter Madsen, the Danish inventor accused of killing Swedish journalist Kim Wall, had horrific photos of hanged girls on his laptop, a court has heard. Madsen is currently on trial in Copenhagen City Court for the murder of Wall on his homemade submarine in August last year.

Yesterday prosecutors told the court that police found 41 images of hanged girls on Madsen’s laptop and other disturbing content about the murder of women and men, Sky News reports.

Police also reportedly found keyword searches of “behadings real”, “suicide videos” and “stabby stabby” dating back to 2011.

Several searches for violent content had also been made on Madsen’s mobile phone, detectives say. More material—including animated films containing the decapitation of naked women—were found on computers in the inventor’s lab.

Wall went missing in August after visiting the inventor on his homemade submarine for a story. On August 21, a dismembered female body was found in the sea off the Danish coast and later identified as Wall. The 30-year-old’s head and legs were later discovered.

Prosecutors claim that 47-year-old Madsen either strangled or slit Wall’s throat, dismembered her body and dumped it out at sea. The inventor, who has admitted to dismembering Ms Wall’s body and dumping it in the ocean, is charged with homicide, dismemberment and the indecent handling of a corpse, The Washington Post reports.

But Madsen denies killing the journalist and says she died of carbon monoxide poisoning after a technical fault led exhaust fumes to fill his vessel. He initially told police that Ms Wall had died after a heavy hatch hit her on the head.

As The Copenhagen Post reports, Madsen searched for ‘aluminum tube’ 220 times on July 27. Miss Wall’s body was found wrapped in plastic bags and weighted down with tubing.

Prosecutors are seeking a life sentence for Madsen if he is convicted.
