Heart-wrenching news has emerged from China as a six-year-old girl has been found alive in the rubble of a collapsed building.
People's Daily Online reports the girl was found in the arms of her father and her mother, who had used their bodies to shield her from harm. Though they were taken to hospital, her parents died soon after arriving on October 11.
The disastrous building collapse happened at 4am in Wenzhou's Lucheng industrial district.
According to the Daily Mail, 22 people have already been confirmed dead, however rescuers are still searching the debris for more people.
The six-storey buildings which collapsed were built by the villagers, and though the nearby buildings weren't affected, they are going to be torn down to avoid a similar disaster.
