Former Home And Away Actor Dieter Brummer Has Tragically Passed Away Aged 45

The actor was known for playing Shane Parrish in the 90s.

In tragic news, Home And Away star Dieter Brummer has passed away at age 45, it has been confirmed.

The actor, best known for his role as Shane Parrish on the popular Australian soap was reportedly found at his home in Glenhaven, Sydney on Saturday July 24.

The cause of Dieter’s death has not been confirmed by police, however, the matter is not being treated as suspicious.

In a statement issued by police, it was confirmed Dieter passed away “About 1.30pm on Saturday, July 24.”

“Officers from from the Hills Police Area Command responded to a report of a concern for welfare at a home on Glenhaven Road, Glenhaven,” the NSW Police spokesperson explained. 

“A body of a man was located inside the home, his death is not to believed to be suspicious. A report will be prepared for the information for the coroner.”

The actor was best known for his role as Shane Parrish on the show, playing the character from 1992 until 1996.

Shane was half of one of Summer Bay’s most iconic couples having wed Angel, famously played by Melissa George, in 1995.

Following his time on Home and Away, Dieter all but disappeared from the spotlight until his triumphant return as corrupt cop Trevor Haken in Underbelly seasons two and three.

Like many of his Home And Away co-stars Dieter then made the jump to Neighbours in 2011 moving to Ramsay Street for a brief stint as Captain Troy Miller.

His final television role was playing Jason Ross in beloved series Winner & Losers in 2014.

In recent months, the 45 year-old was reportedly running his own window cleaning business.
