Surrendering Your Phone Is The Newest Vacation Trend

It's time to power down

As of late, many of your favourite celebrities and Instagram creatives have been taking time off for a digital detox. The trend, in fact, has reached such new heights that some holiday homes and vacation spots are actually offering a digital detox as part of their in-house service. The most recent venue to peel you away from your phone? QT Hotels & Resorts.

Launching Power Down, the hotel is encouraging guests to put themselves into flight mode and get ground. Surrendering your phone/devices is a requirement of the package, with a minimum of 12 hours away from the screen for a little self-care. As they say, “sometimes, the most important function on your phone is the off switch.”

Whether your losing hours mindlessly scrolling on Instagram, suffering burn-out from too many emails or just sick of being spammed by old memories from 2005, the Power Down package offers guests the chance to truly log off. As part of the unplug and rewind package, guests are treated with complimentary wellness bowls, juices, supplements or a sneaky wine and cheese.

Not to mention handpicked in-room wellness gifts like Beauty Chef’s GLOW powder to boost gut health and glowing skin, as well as Addition Studio’s Bath Bew giant tea bag to have a truly dreamy experience. There’s also a Protein Ball courtesy of Luv Sum and a yoga mat from lululemon to practice anything from Sirsasana to Savasana.

Are you game enough to surrender your phone?
