Dylan Farrow Has Given Her First Interview About Her Allegations Against Woody Allen

“I am telling the truth”

While the Harvey Weinstein scandal lifted the lid on sexual harassment in Hollywood, Dylan Farrow has been trying to make her voice heard for years. The adopted daughter of Woody Allen and Mia Farrow long ago accused her father of taking her into an attic and assaulting her in 1992, when she was just seven, which the director has consistently denied.

Now, Farrow has given her first interview about her allegations against her adoptive father, news.com.au reports. Speaking to CBS This Morning host Gayle King in her Connecticut home, Farrow maintained that her account is true.

“I am credible and I am telling the truth and I think it’s important that people realise that one victim, one accuser, matters,” she says. “And that they are enough to change things.”

Farrow recently wrote a piece for the Los Angeles Times highlighting the hypocrisy of those who condemned directors like Weinstein and James Toback while continuing to work with Allen.

“Why is it that Harvey Weinstein and other accused celebrities have been cast out by Hollywood, while Allen recently secured a multimillion-dollar distribution deal with Amazon, greenlit by former Amazon Studios executive Roy Price before he was suspended over sexual misconduct allegations?” she wrote.

But it seems popular opinion on Allen in Hollywood may be shifting, with multiple actors and actresses expressing regret that they worked on his films. Ladybird director and writer Greta Gerwig, who appeared in Allen’s To Rome With Love, has recently gone on record: “If I had known then what I know now, I would not have acted in the film. I have not worked for him again, and I will not work for him again,” the Sydney Morning Herald reports.
