Tickets for Ed Sheeran’s Australian Tour Are Being Scalped

Not cool

Ed Sheeran tickets are being scalped for more than double the amount they were sold at face value for on ticket resale sites, such as Viagogo.

Tickets to his ÷ (Divide) World Tour show were available to buy on pre-sale yesterday afternoon, but thousands of Aussies were left disappointed when they missed out due to high demand.

The tickets (which cost between $70-$165 at face value) are now being sold anywhere from $200-$500 on resale sites.

“Hundreds of thousands of you have stretched major ticketing systems to the maximum, which is impressive, but we appreciate for you, is pretty bloody annoying,” Frontier Touring wrote on Facebook,. “Please remember though that we’re only in pre-sale. More tickets will be available in all ticket categories, for all shows, in the sale to the general public next Tuesday. So stay strong, chances are Tuesday may be your lucky day.”

PS – don’t buy from dirty scalpers because it would really suck to realise you paid 5 times more for tickets that aren’t valid when we go to general on-sale on Tuesday.”

Promoter Michael Gudinski has assured fans it’s highly likely Ed will announce more shows when tickets are sold to the general public next week.

“There’s still some pre-sale tickets left, people shouldn’t panic and shouldn’t resort to looking at other ways of buying tickets, particularly from the unauthorised ticket resale sites. We’ve stopped any tickets going on the Ticketmaster Resale site on this tour, Ed doesn’t do VIP packages. I’m negotiating for extra shows to be added,” he told The Daily Telegraph.

The “Galway Girl” singer will kick off the Australian leg of his world tour in March 2018, visiting Perth, Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
